We offer the highest quality of Museum Core mats from Peterboro Matboards.
With hundreds of colours to choose from, the Peterboro mats we supply use 100% virgin cotton rag core and backing. Cotton is naturally acid and lignin-free and the cotton core and backing is 100% renewable and green friendly. These mats consist of pigmented conservation quality surface papers, are bleed and fade resistant throughout and are buffered with calcium carbonate (to dramatically slow the damage caused by acids and lignin). The consistent core and fibre density results in a smooth and clean beveled look to your mat.
Today, documents of historical significance and fine art prints are produced on paper made from natural cotton fibre. Pure cotton in it’s natural form has been unquestionably proven through the ages, French museums display works on cotton dating as far back as the 1100′s. We use Museum Core because it meets or exceeds all international standards for conservation mat boards, providing piece of mind for ourselves and our clients.
