Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was an Austrian painter born in 1862 in the heart of Vienna. He was a prominent symbolist painter and member of the Vienna Secession movement. Klimt's primary subject was the female body and coinciding eroticism. Drawing inspiration from Japanese art, Klimt's pieces can be distinguished amidst many European artists of this time period. A trademark of Klimt's, which is evident in many of his pieces, is that of the gold leaf technique. This merged with his integrity to stick to his personalized art in spite of public opinion coined his "golden phase." Order an archival print of Klimt's original and add an evocative masterpiece to your collection.
